Central Hotel Panama Casco Viejo

I booked a Junior Suite which is really worth paying for, not just for the extra space, but because of the view with the 2 small balconies (some rooms face indoor and I would not have liked that). Alfredo at reception is fantastic! The roof top casual restaurant is great for the superb view and the great friendly service, the food and margaritas were very good too! Jaime in the more upscale restaurant downstairs, is very professional and friendly, personal touch with his guests. The breakfast buffet is excellent and so is the service, very friendly, all the staff there.

This historic hotel is right in the heart of Casco Viejo. We stayed for a week in Feb 2025, to get away from winter. The hotel is in excellent condition. The breakfast was outstanding. I really appreciated all the fresh fruit. Our room was large and comfortable, with 2 balconies. The bathroom was modern and clean. It was nice having a separate tub and shower. Most staff were friendly and helpful. The waiters at breakfast were a little surly at times.

The atrium is beautiful and I loved the live music every day. Everything in the hotel from cocktails to food to luggage service was great (they even stored the luggage of my friends who were not even staying in this hotel!) The staff of this hotel is exceptional! Especially Kimberly at the reception deserves a special mention. Nothing was a problem and she always maintained her calm and a friendly smile. I would definitely stay again. And the food in AMB Sabor restaurant is excellent! Go there at least once during your stay.

Location, rooms, staff and meals were all excellent!! I had a little issue at check-in and it was handled very respectfully by the front desk staff. I also used their paid Airport transfer service, it was a very smooth transfer, all confirmations and details were provided clearly and it was very reasonable. The Junior suite was spacious, the bathroom was surprisingly huge. For a 5* hotel the bathroom amenities were lacking a Dental kit and Vanity kit, I would suggest the hotel to add this as an option for guests. There was a guest requesting a Dental kit while I was checking in and the staff was unable to help them. The rooftop restaurant had a wonderful ambiance in the evening and a lovely view to match the food. The breakfast buffet also had attentive staff and a very good selection. Overall a very relaxed stay in an iconic hotel, I would stay here again in a heartbeat.
